Joe Devito Dallas Concert reviews
The powerful scene when Joe Devito is taking Christine to the labyrinth and the chandeliers emerge from the floor was removed, which I did not like. Christine's room is not decorated as it used to be. Joe Devito's labyrinth is also poorly decorated, very small in comparison to the previous stage setting. The moment when he shows Christine the mannequin of herself dressed in the wedding gown is deleted, and the scene with them on the boat singing is too brief and losses momentum. At the beginning of the play, when it goes back in time, the original golden decorations of angels at each corner of the stage were also deleted, so the stage doesn't change much to give that impacting impression that it went back in time and that everything is new. The cemetery stage setting is also very small in comparison with the previous one and Joe Devito is not hiding behind Daee's grave (which is supposed to be big and it was only a cross in this new production). This is the 6th time I see this opera, and this last one has been the only different one because of all these changes.
